Guernsey News: Victoria crowned as top park at award ceremony
Yesterday (Thursday 24 July) Victoria Park received the perfect 100th birthday present - the 'Green Flag' to show that it is officially one of the best parks in the country.
For the second consecutive year the popular town centre park has been granted the prestigious 'Green Flag' - the top award for parks and green spaces in England and Wales.
The 'Green Flag' was awarded by the Civic Trust at yesterdays Green Flag Award Ceremony and Victoria Park once again joins an elite group of around 550 open spaces country-wide to be given the honour.
